2010 Season begins

Filed under: Events — admin @ 2:54 pm

Here we are at Tuesday 2nd March and the front courtyard is still full of snow 12 inches deep (I know that for sure because Chris has just gone out and measured it with  my ruler!)  Photographs to follow later in the week.

Since my last very downhearted Blog entry on January 29th, Allen and Chris have been busy clearing the flooding damage and re-decorating the 4 flood-hit rooms. Now we await the arrival of brand new replacement carpets and furniture – which is on its way here as I type. Photographs to follow later.

Re-opening for 2010 season

Filed under: General News — admin @ 11:01 am

The Centre will officially re-open for the 2010 season on Monday 1st March.

Until then we are dealing with the aftermath of the big freeze during December/January – burst pipes, soaking wet carpets upstairs and downstairs in one of the wings of the building. Deep sigh…

Off to the sunshine…

Filed under: General News — admin @ 11:47 am

It’s Friday and I’m on the countdown to my holiday in the sunshine…

This time next week I will be on the beach in Gran Canaria, where my biggest problem for the day will be deciding which book to read!

By the time I get back, Christmas will be upon us so there will be very little time for Blogging.

Anyway – hope all my Blog followers have a very happy Christmas with lots of nice presents and scrumptious food.

Thank you for all the comments you have kindly placed on the Blog this year - it’s great to know you are out there and I hope you will return to read about our adventures here at Fairburn in 2010.

Merry Christmas and may the new year bring you everything you wish for yourself.

Winter berries

Filed under: General News — admin @ 11:26 am

This week in Inverness, I noticed some berries I have not seen before.

Very pretty colours decorating the railings around Charleston Primary School. Does anyone know what they are?

Every day you may make progress.

Every step may be fruitful, yet there will stretch out before you
an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending,
ever-improving path.

You know you will never get to the end of the journey but this,
so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.
